Elizabeth "Bunnie" W. Woodburn - Obituary

E

lizabeth “Bunnie” or “Liz” Woodburn, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, MD, passed away on June 14, 2024 at Bay Village in Annapolis after a fierce battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born on July 6, 1931 to the late Henry K. and Elizabeth D. Wesphal, Bunnie would spend her summers at her grandparents’ farm in St. Margarets as a young girl. Often her parents would go to pick her up and she would hide. She enjoyed her high school years as she was a majorette, played field hockey, and competed in the Miss Annapolis pageant. Bunnie married her high school sweetheart, Archie Woodburn. They would soon meticulously build their home on a piece of the family farm in St. Margarets. She was a homemaker who took much pride in her home, and she loved to cook and entertain. In 1970, she formed St. Margarets Pony Club. In the mid-70s, along with her twin sisters, she formed a craft business, Creative Made, where they sold their products wholesale throughout the United States. As her children grew up and moved on, Bunnie worked for Dr. Stanley Hamilton, Dentist. In 1992, she went to work for and retired from Drs. Tull, Behling, and Deceree Pediatric Dental Office, where she was dearly loved. Bunnie was a devout Christain. To know Bunnie was to love her. She was a beautiful person inside as well as outside. Bunnie was preceded in death by her husband, Archie and her sister, Margaret “Peggy” Sullivan. She is survived by her three daughters, Beth (Brian) Schiesher of Rockford, IL, Mary Carol (Bob) Rogowski of Odenton, MD, and Bunny (Ross) Moreland of West River; her sister, Dorothy Disney of Annapolis, MD; her grandchildren, Amy Beth Steier, Scott Hendrickson, Beth Ann Sachs, William Shepherd, Megan Cosgrove, Joni Sheen, Julie Sokola, and Jennifer Baldwin, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bunnie’s life at Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church, 1239 Murray Road, Odenton, MD 20113 on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 10:00 am until her Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00.
